The Massac-Metropolis Port District was established December 16, 2009 by the state of Illinois to promote economic development in our community by attracting new business and expanding existing businesses. We are committed to that responsibility and are actively seeking new opportunities to fulfill this goal. We are located on the Ohio River approximately 25 miles upstream from the Mississippi River at Cairo, Illinois and just 10 miles downstream from the Tennessee and Cumberland Rivers. Interstate 24 is within 5 miles of our site with direct connections to Interstates 57 to the north and Interstate 40 for east and west connections.
